POČITELJ - Middle Ages Town
Počitelj is the Middle Ages town situated 3 kilometres north of town Čapljina along the left bank of the river Neretva and it is one of the most beautiful cultural-historical place in Herzegovina. Počitelj is a living proof of Turkish domination: an old mosque from 1563, ˝madrasa˝( religious high school ), a hamam , elegant houses that once belonged to Muslim aristocracy from the 18th century. The beauty of Počitelj is enhanced by the river Neretva with natural beaches and fishing grounds of many sorts noble fish.
